Now! Separate railway apps were required to book ticket booking, live train status, complaint or to get food on the seat. But now Indian Railways has introduced such a digital solution, which has made it possible in the same app.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has launched the ‘Railone’ app on the 40th Foundation Day of the Center for Railway Information System (CRIS). This app will provide every necessary railway facility to the passengers on the same platform.

Question- What is Railone App?
answer- According to the Indian Railways Ministry, Railone is a ‘One-stop solution’. That is, it is an app in which every important service related to train travel is available. You can download it for free on Android and iOS. Its interface is very easy and convenient. In this, all the facilities are available in the same place after login (mpin or biometric) once.
Question- Why did the Railone app need?
answer- Earlier, passengers had to use many different apps for different facilities related to railway. Such as-
- Ticket booking had to be done from the IRCTC app.
- The NTES app had to see the live status of the train.
- A complaint had to be lodged with ‘Rail Madad’.
- Food was ordered in the train with ‘Food on Track’.
Due to so many apps, travelers had problems like login repeatedly, understanding different interfaces and surrounding more storage in mobiles. The Railone app is a solution to all these problems.
Question- Will the Railone app fully replace IRCTC?
answer- No, the Railone app will not replace IRCTC, but it is its official partner app. Booking of reserved tickets will still be from the IRCTC system, but passengers will be able to access it easily through the Railone app. IRCTC and Railone are working together to give passengers a much easier and safe train travel experience.
Question- What is R-Wallet and how is it used?
answer- R-Wallet Indian Railways has its own digital purse (wallet). With its help, passengers can make online payment of tickets and other services of the railway. It contains biometric or mpin login, which keeps your money and information safe. This wallet can also provide a discount of up to 3% on taking unreserved tickets.
To use it, one has to register on the railway app (such as railway) and invested money in the wallet. Then you can book tickets with the same money.
Question- What are the plans related to this app in future?
answer- According to the Railway Minister, by December 2025, the Reservation System (PRS) of the railway will be fully upgraded. The new system will be able to handle the load of 10 times more people and there will be a capacity to book 1.5 lakh tickets every minute. Some new facilities will also be added to it. Such as-
- Option to choose a seat.
- Rent calendar.
- Special options for disabled, students and patients.
That is, in future the railway app will be faster, convenient and easy for all.

answer- To use the Railone app, first of all download it from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After installing the app, you have to verify from OTP by entering the mobile number. Then set mpin or activate biometric login. Once you are logged, you can use facilities like ticket booking, live status, complaint.
Question- Does the Railone support regional languages?
answer- Yes, the Railone app is available in many Indian languages so that travelers from every corner of the country can use it easily in their language. This improves the user experience and makes the access to technology easier for everyone.

answer- Currently, internet is necessary for booking tickets from the Railone app, but some services such as looking at ticket status, PNR status or information of old tickets, can also be seen offline for limited time (if already data is saved).
