Question- What kind of problems can cause problems with the use of bad or dirty hairbrush?
answer- When we comb the hair, the hairbrush collects the remains of dead skin cells, natural oil and styling products from the scalp. Over time, this brush becomes a favorable environment for bacteria and yeast to flourish. When we use it, all these elements go back to the scalp, which can cause irritation, itching and many other problems. Understand it from the graphic below-

Come, now let’s talk about these points in detail.
Itching and burning
Dust, oil and dead skin cells accumulate on the dirty brush. When it is used in hair, it irritates the scalp, which can cause itching and sometimes mild irritation.
Wound or infection
Brushes with broken or rough bristles can make small cuts or wounds on the scalp. Bacteria or fungus can enter these cuts, which increases the risk of infection.
Dandruff to form a layer
By sticking to the oil and dust scalp stored in the hairbrush, you can make a thick layer like dandruff, which is very difficult to get out.
Allergic reaction
Use of poor quality or dirty brush can trigger allergies on sensitive scalp. Its symptoms include redness, rashes and itching.
Dryness in scalp
Use of poor or dirty brush can unbalance the oil glands of the scalp. The effect of this is that sometimes scalp feels very oily and sometimes very dry.
Hair breakage and fall
Hair roots are damaged due to poor brush or excess pressure. This increases the problem of hair fall and brakeage.
Question- How can problems caused by hairbrush be avoided?
answer- Some easy measures can be adopted to avoid this. Understand it from the graphic below-

Question- What kind of brush should be chosen for which type of hair?
answer- Dermatologist Dr. Nipun Jain explains that there are different brushes for all types of hair. If the right brush is chosen, the hair breaks less and the scalp also remains healthy. Such as-
- Soft, cushion brush is the best for thin and delicate hair. Its flexible bristles do not pull the hair and solve it easily.
- Wide-tooth comb or deitringing brushes remain perfect for dense or curly hair. They do not get stuck in the hair and also reduce the freeze.
- Those with sensitive scalp should take natural boar bristle brushes or brushes whose brisles are round and soft, so that the scalp does not irritate.
- A paddle brush for thick and straight hair is a good choice, which easily covers the large portion and makes the hair smooth.
- Use a round brush for blow-dry or styling, which helps in bringing volume and shape to the hair.

Question- What should be kept in mind while using hairbrush?
answer- Hairbrushing should always be done with light hands. Brushing on wet hair breaks the hair more, so let them dry lightly and then solve it with a comb with wide teeth. First of all start with the ends of the hair and slowly move upwards so that the hair does not pull and avoid breaking.
Brushing is only one to two times a day. Frequent and loud brushing can deteriorate the oil balance of the scalp. Always choose a brush according to your hair type and do not put a lot of pressure while brushing so that there is no scratch or irritation on the scalp.
Question- What is the right way to clean the hairbrush?
answer- It is necessary to clean the hairbrush regularly and correctly so that it remains free from bacteria, dead skin cells and dirt. Keep some things in mind for this.
- First of all remove hair and dirt from a brush.
- Now add mild shampoo or soap in a bowl lukewarm water.
- Dip the brush in water and clean it lightly.
- Remove the dirt accumulated between the bristles with the help of a toothbrush or comb.
- Wash the brush with clean water and keep it upside down on the towel and let it dry.
- Never keep the brush in a wet or closed container, this can cause bacteria to flourish in it.
- At least once a month, soak the brush by soaking light disinfects like vinegar or hydrogen peroxide for 5-10 minutes.
